This snow cream recipe requires just 3 ingredients and is nearly foolproof to make. The key is full fat sweetened condensed milk and a splash of vanilla extract that give the snow that extra creamy taste. Freshly fallen snow that's powdery in texture works best and don't worry — the snow won't melt once you bring it inside to work with. It actually holds it's shape well and stays nice and cold.

Recipe: Homemade Mignonette Sauce for Oysters on the Half Shell
Over the weekend we welcomed in the first autumn-like Friday by picking up a box of our favorite oysters and lighting up the outdoor brick fireplace at the river house for a small roast. Tim prepared an array of toppings that we spread out on the picnic table and we indulged in oysters on the half shell, roasted oysters, Oysters Rockefeller and my personal favorite — fresh oysters with a homemade mignonette sauce. The sauce is quick to make with just 6 ingredients and fool-proof for serving with chilled oysters — recipe below!

Where to Begin: Trying a Dairy and Soy-Free Diet while Nursing
This week I casually hopped on Insta Stories to ask for advice from my mom friends and those on specialized diets. I've actually been eating dairy-free the last 4 weeks after Etta's pediatrician made the recommendation while I'm exclusively nursing. She's absolutely thriving in every way but had a few symptoms closely related to cow's milk sensitivity, which I understand can be fairly common in small babies. After a quick check-in yesterday, they suggested eliminating soy from my diet as well.

Recipe: Classic & Easy Pecan Pie
This time of year is one filled with family and tradition — one of which includes my mom's pecan pies. She's been making them by the batch to give as gifts every holiday season since before I was born. The recipe was passed down from her mother and as a kid, even though I loved watching mom bake these pies, the filling was too rich for my liking. As an adult, I've developed a taste for them and look forward to a single slice once a year at Christmas. I hope you enjoy this family recipe as much as we do.

How to Cook a Whole Country Ham
A country ham is known best for its salty taste. I've only ever met people who either love or hate a salty ham. I've also met folks who think they like a salty ham until they've tried a real country ham. If you've had one, you know what I'm talking about.

Recipe: Individual Watermelon Feta Salad Wedges
Summertime means getting to enjoy watermelons at their seasonal peak and this past weekend we cut into our first seedless treat of the season! Tim's the main point for most things food in our relationship, so he was in charge of the majority of our weekend party menu. That being said, I was excited to put together these individual watermelon feta wedges as part of the larger spread.

Fun Brunch Idea: Bunny Bottom Pancakes
We were lucky enough to help watch my sister's kids for a while this past week after meeting our newest niece and as a special breakfast to wake up to, Tim whipped together some fun animal pancakes for Sophia, who was staying with us overnight.

Recipe: Apple & Cheddar Breakfast Pastry Bites
These little pastry bites make for a quick weekend breakfast or could be popped in the oven for an appetizer before dinner — I made a batch of them on Christmas morning as something small but filling to tide us over until the big meal later in the day. Tim's without question the cook in our house, but I was excited to whip these up for a quick breakfast that morning — they are so simple to make and give off a feeling of being a little fancy with their warm flakiness and little hint of heat from the cayenne.
