How To: Make DIY Potpourri With Wedding Flowers
When Tim and I got married over 2 years ago, I ended up saving my bouquet and the large centerpiece from our florals, allowing them to fully dry out. I wasn't sure what I'd do with them at the time, but didn't want to throw them away and knew at some point an idea may strike for how to preserve them in a meaningful way.

Our Big Takeaways: Things To Think About While Planning a Wedding
To wrap up wedding week here on the blog, we wanted to put together one last post, listing out many of the afterthoughts we had post-wedding. A question that comes up frequently is — so, if you could do it all over again, knowing what you know now, what would you keep the same or do differently? So in no particular order, here are all the tips, advice, mishaps and words of wisdom that we're putting out there from our own experience!

Our Wedding Day: Party Time at The Roosevelt!
For those following along, you'll know this week we've been sharing all the details behind our wedding this past June. Yesterday we shared many of our favorite photos, moments and stories from the ceremony and today (in true Friday fashion), we are ready to get the party started! We hope you'll enjoy scrolling through more of our favorite shots and reading our memories from the reception after exchanging our vows that afternoon. Each of the photos in today's post were captured by Tori Watson, our talented wedding photographer.
We left off yesterday heading over to the reception in an old working Richmond trolley. All of our guests had already been taken for a ride on the trolleys from the ceremony site up through historic parts of Richmond to our favorite local restaurant, The Roosevelt, where we held the reception...

Our Wedding Day: Ceremony Pictorial
If you've been following along you'll know it's wedding week here on the blog! We've been sharing the events and projects leading up to the big day and today we're excited to share the final photos from our wedding day. We've been going through all of our favorite pictures from the day and there is just so much we want to share. Since we want to include so many pictures, we'll break the wedding day into two large pictorial posts. Today we're excited to give you a peek into the afternoon of our wedding as we got ready, said our vows and hopped on a Richmond trolley to capture family pictures up on Richmond's Libby Hill.

DIY Wedding Sparklers & Free Printable Sleeve Template

It's wedding week here on the blog and today we're sharing all the details behind the big exit! For our party send-off, we made heart shaped wedding sparkler kits. A sparkler exit has been a trend I've loved seeing pop up across weddings and since ours would take place during the nighttime in the city, we felt like leaving to the glow of sparklers would be fun and memorable.
It's wedding week here on the blog, so we're rewinding back to early summer and recounting all the events leading up to our big day. Today we're continuing where we left off yesterday, sharing some of our favorite family photos from the ceremony rehearsal and rehearsal dinner that Friday evening. As with yesterday's luncheon post, today's entry is a personal recount of the fun we had and the time we spent with family while gearing up for the big day.

Our Wedding: Bridal Luncheon Recap
This week we've been detailing out all the projects and events from our wedding in an effort to share them all with each of you, but also to create an archive of sorts for ourselves while the memories are still fresh to look back on. In today's post I wanted to share some of my favorite memories from the bridal luncheon and afternoon projects that Friday before our wedding. This is one of those posts filled with personal shots of family and friends, so I hope you enjoy reading about this special time as much as we enjoyed celebrating together.
As you know, it's wedding week here on the blog. Yesterday we set the rewind button back to our engagement, showing off several of our favorite shots from our engagement session. Today I'm excited to talk more about our save the dates, detailing out why we chose what we did and how I made them.

Our Richmond Virginia Engagement Shoot
We figured there couldn't be a better way to start out our week of wedding posts than by rewinding back to the engagement stage. Mary and I decided on a long, year+ engagement so we could take our time with the process. We announced our engagement to our families in 2011 on Christmas Eve, you can read all the details from that night and more of the story behind finding the ring in this post.

As mentioned several times over the past several months, we've been eager to share all the details and final pics from our summer wedding and the events leading up to it...

How To: Make a DIY Birdcage Veil for Your Wedding
Back in the spring, Tim hinted at my making the veil I wore for our wedding. I really wanted to wait to publish the tutorial for making it here on the blog until I had a good final shot from wearing it. Well that day has come and passed — so today we're talking all about how to make your own birdcage veil!

It's been 2 1/2 weeks since the wedding and we finally feel like things are starting to feel like normal again! While we excitedly wait to see the final shots from our wedding photographer, it's been so much fun to see different glimpses of the big day pop up across our Facebook and Instagram feeds from different friends and family that helped us celebrate.

Bridal Luncheon & Rehearsal Dinner Place Settings
Last Friday before the wedding was filled with fun wedding prep events — my mother hosted a bridal luncheon at the Virginia Museum of Fine Art's Amuse Restaurant and we enjoyed dinner with the wedding party after the rehearsal at Azzurro, the Italian restaurant where Tim and I first met.
We're looking forward to sharing more pics and details from both the events of the luncheon and rehearsal dinner last Friday in future posts but wanted to quickly share the how the diy place cards we posted about last week at the dinner turned out — and while we're talking table decor, show what we did for the luncheon as well.

Hitched! 17 Apart Wedding Preview
We made it! Tim and I are officially married as of Saturday and are already relaxing with Basil in a cozy remote beach cottage nestled in Hatteras. We knew we'd have limited internet access while here (which helps force us unplug), and are actually checking in via mobile hotspot — thank you iPhone! It's been fun seeing all the candid wedding photos shared across our Facebook feeds taken from all of our friends and family over the past couple of days — it really is so interesting to get to see a look at the wedding through all the different angles and points of view.

See Ya When We're Married!
Mary: Today kicks off the start to our wedding events this weekend. Tomorrow I get to marry my best friend and partner in crime. Sunday we'll be driving down to Hatteras, NC for a weeklong getaway which we are both so excited about.
