In The Mail!

Invites being weighed and queued up for shipment

Pinch me — our wedding invitations are officially in the mail!

We'd mentioned before that we'd ordered them custom from Kirsten of Teal Typewriter Studios on Etsy. They turned out even more amazing in person, with so many little custom details.

All the components arrived last Friday and were all packaged up with care, ready for assembling. I'm such a sucker for good packaging, I almost didn't want to open the pieces so we could get started putting them together:

This is where my superhero mother comes into play — she came over and literally assembled every invitation in about 3 1/2 hours. We're having a fairly intimate sized ceremony, so there were about 60 invitations in total.

It was such a blessing.

Her supervisor even gave her his official stamp (sniff?) of approval:

I feel so lucky to have such an amazing mother.

I also ended up ordering a bunch of different sized stamps from Zazzle.com to get that layered look on the outer envelope. I kept with our theme of pink peonies and just ordered different variations I thought might work nicely paired with one another. We're pretty pleased with how the end result shaped up!

We had a few extra invitation sets made with our own names on them to have our photographer take professional shots of on the big day, so we'll be excited to share a closer look at both the full invitation suite and save the dates after the wedding.

So yeah, this wedding thing is beginning to feel real :)

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

  5. I don't know what it is about putting the invitations in the mail, but it definitely does make the whole thing seem more real. And geting the RSVPs back is super fun! We've been enjoying that part. :)
