Over on eHow: DIY Industrial Pendant Light From an Antique Egg Basket

As you can see, we've got a new pendant light hanging in our upstairs hallway! I made this rustic beauty out of an antique egg basket we came across at a local farm estate and we're sharing the full tutorial for how it all went down in our latest project post for eHow.

The basket had certainly seen better days, but retained so much of that industrial charm we both love so much. We immediately re-imagined it as a light fixture, which is a pretty simple process to make with a few basic lighting materials from the hardware or lighting store. I gotta give a big shout out to my new friends at Shades of Light, our local lighting store, who were such a big help when it came to suggesting color combos for the fabric covered electrical cord and lighting canopy when Mary couldn't be there to pick things out. What can I say, I know my stuff when it comes to the electrical, but she is the coordination expert.

You may have also noticed we replaced the DIY pendant lamp we hung in this space just over a year ago. We love how this newer basket light feels a bit more substantial at the top of the stair landing, and have plans for where we'd like to try hanging the green light in a little nook downstairs!

We've posted all the step-by-step instructions with more pictures on this new light in our latest project post over on eHow.
