Over on eHow: DIY Plastic Toy Animal Planters

We already told you we were tackling a project involving succulents and another excuse to use my hole saw drill attachment over the weekend — what we didn't tell you was how adorable these these painted animal planters turned out!

With little more than a hole saw, your favorite hollow plastic toys and plants of your choosing, you too can create a whole new set of these "living friends" to keep you company around the house.

As you can see, we transformed a toy turtle and guinea pig into succulent bearing creatures with big personality. Mary was a little skeptical about how the guinea pig was going to turn out (he was my pick), but now it's her favorite of the two. We're also excited to have "snipping" access to an aloe vera plant anytime we want!

This was such a fun little project to make and can be found newly featured with step-by-step instructions for making one of your own right here, on eHow.
