RVA Fireworks

Yesterday much of the talk around town was what fireworks show everyone would be attending — the closest 2 near us were at Dogwood Dell and The Diamond. We were excited to be able to just walk down the block to get a good look at the fireworks from the Diamond and they were great.

We walked right over to where Broad sits in front of the Children's Museum of Richmond to get a good view. It looked like the Children's Museum is a well known spot since the parking lot was filled with cars and families decked out with lawn chairs.

Then the fireworks began:

Just as the fireworks finale at the Diamond wound down and we made our way back to the house, we heard the fireworks show getting going at Dogwood Dell, which we realized we could catch a tiny glimpse of from the back landing of our house. I immediately wished I'd found a way to get us up on the roof before both shows began as we'd have been able to see both very clearly on either side of us from up above. This is my goal for next year if we are in town, so hold me to it guys!

I'm not sure if you'll be able to make out the silhouette of our furry little friend below, but Basil was in tow, relaxing on the sidewalk there with us and enjoying the bright show in the sky:

Did you get to see any fireworks from your part of the world?

If not, we did find this uncut version of Richmond's fireworks shows caught on the news' skycam:

We hope each of you had a happy and safe 4th wherever you may have been

  1. I have to say I am very jealous that Basil is not freaking out over the fireworks. Our little guy wasn't bothered in the least, but Noodle has been another story. We can't even get him out to pee without a leash and a treat.
