Vacation Snaps: Cancun, Mexico

This time last month we were just off the heels of our annual self-imposed spring break in Mexico. Today we've collected a few of our favorite snaps from the trip to share if you care to see...
Cancun is just far enough away to make us feel like we're really getting away, but close enough to get back in the span of a single travel day from the East Coast. Over the years (roughly 9 and counting), we've developed quite the ritual of sunning by the pool, dipping in the ocean, indulging in local eats and just generally savoring a bit warmth in the midst of dragging winter months.

It's such a welcome break to our typical routine this time of year and brings us back refreshed — ready for spring and changes it will certainly bring.

One of my favorite rituals is the accessibility to the infinity lap pool, which makes it easy to toss on a suit, grab a coffee and hit the pool while the sun rises over the ocean and before the resort starts to get busy for the day.

Swimming is something I'd like to do more of back home (shout out to our 2017 goals post), but it will just have to be more intentional than a hop and a plunge just down the stairs. Needless to say — the the lap lanes and view are a treat this time of year.

When it comes to Tim, I think we'll have to proclaim this the official year of the Michelada! Be it for brunch, lunch or just pool dazing — it was a spicy Michelada on order the bulk of this trip:

What about you — do you have a favorite spring break spot or family ritual to welcome in spring?

As always, thanks for spending a minute with us to see what we've been up to. Like I said, this is an annual trip for us — if you'd like to see roundups from past trips to Mexico, have a look through our 2016, 2015, 2014, & 2012 recaps!
