Rudolph in the House...Almost

Hope everyone is having a wonderful start to this December weekend! It's really chilly here in RVA, but not cold enough to stop us from donning our winter coats and taking in 2 exciting local holiday events going on today.

We already popped across the street over to Broad Street to catch a glimpse of the Dominion Richmond Christmas Parade. We saw Rudolph peeking at us from between the houses across the street, telling us we needed to come pay him a visit. Can you spot him above?

The parade starts at the Science Museum, within walking distance from our home — we feel so lucky to be able to just walk on over and scurry back to the warmth of our house without having to hunt for parking or camp out for the entire show. In the Children's Museum parking lot, we were greeted by Rudolph and many more of his Christmas balloon friends, all getting ready for their big debut:

Oh, hey Rudolph!

He's looking fresh, fit and ready to tackle this year's parade. He even let us know he's been practicing his stoplight ducking skills since his unfortunate encounter with the Meadow Street stoplights back in 2010.

Later today we'll be checking out the Fan Holiday House Tour:

This tour is something I've wanted to do since we moved into this neighborhood 3 Christmases ago, and Tim surprised me with tickets for my birthday this year! No pictures are allowed inside the homes, but you can get a peek at all the houses on this year's tour we'll be walking through here. I'm really excited to get a chance to walk through these amazing homes — I'm sure we'll be drawing lots of inspiration and just generally enjoying the holiday spirit.

Have a great weekend!
