Sunglass Warehouse: DIY Holiday Shades Face-off

Tim and I flexed our DIY guns with a little holiday creativity to bring you a fashion face-off and sunglasses giveaway today. Check out each of our projects below and learn how to enter for a chance to win a fashionable $50 to spend on sunglasses from Sunglasses Warehouse at the bottom of this post.

Sunglass Warehouse just launched their holiday gift guide and tips for hosting a holiday bash — find ideas for decor, music lists, and a contest where you can win sunglasses for an entire year here! Part of the fun in the holiday launch was a roundup of DIY updates with a holiday spin. Tim and I thought long and hard about how we could transform a pair of shades into something wearable and festive and came up with the 2 ideas below. Check out the full list of DIY updates from this season in this roundup.

We picked out the sunglasses above from Sunglass Warehouse to transform into the holiday themed shades you see us sporting above.

Mary's Shades:
We drew inspiration for my whimsical shades from classic vintage brass holiday deer figurines, like these. Check out the result and get the full DIY for these sunglasses here.

Tim's Shades:
We drew inspiration for Tim's flashy shades from the aged sheen of antique mercury glass holiday ornaments, like these. We couldn’t wait to give them a touch of sparkle and an updated vintage feel. Check out the result and get the full DIY for these sunglasses here.

Even Basil joined in on the fun and wants to know which pair you prefer?

  9. Must I get in the middle of this? :)
I think you both did a fantastic job.
I might even go for the idea of putting the antlers on the mercury glass colored pair, a more subtle fusion.
I heartily applaud any and all DIY, and the fact that the antlers can flip up is brilliant!
Kudos, compliments, and I do a standing ovation of one.
Basil: that dog has got A-ttit-ude!
... Watch out Heidi Klum, you've got competition and it has FOUR great looking gams!
