Weekend Basics

It was a slower weekend around here where we got to shop the farmer's market, take walks with Basil through the Fan and just generally enjoy not having so many weekend plans (like weddings and graduations).

Did you happen to catch a glimpse of the supermoon over the weekend? I caught this pretty cool shot above of it while I was out checking on the plants Saturday evening.

Sunday we were excited to join in on the fun at the Richmond Food Coop picnic. I put on 2 food demos and if you were watching the local news here in Richmond, you just might have caught a glimpse of Basil on WRIC 8 News wagging his tail in tune with local bands, Lobo Marino and Josh Small:

Earlier in the weekend I also got to put on my figurative plumber hat and fix the upstairs toilet — fun stuff, lemme tell you!

Basically, Stephanie called down to let us know the toilet in her bathroom was leaking, so after a quick look I realized the best course of action would be updating the older ball mechanism with a newer fill valve:

That was all it took to get things back in working order and I got to bask in all the accolades from Mary and Stephanie thinking I can fix anything, ha.

In shop news, we photographed some new jewelry designs and vintage goodies for the Etsy shops and had fun trying to work in this piece of wood as a photo prop — I think it turned out pretty well:

And in the garden, we snipped the top off of our little basil plant in hopes of being able to propagate it like we propagated rosemary:

If we're successful, we'll keep you posted!

P.S. We watched the season finale of Mad Men last night. Did you watch? What did you think? Are you as excited as we are for the return in 2014?

    1. Hey there,

Thanks for asking! We share a Canon Digital Rebel XSi 12.2 MP SLR Camera purchased as a starter kit (it came with the camera body, kit lens, battery, etc.). Tim had two vintage 80's lenses from a manual Canon SLR of his (macro 50mm and zoom 35-135mm lenses) that we also use!
