Hello, Neighbor

Basil keeps quite the social life in our new home. Both neighbors to either side of us have dogs and Basil has a special affinity for the pit-bull next door, named ladybug. You may recall the two of them playing in this season's first snow together?

As ladybug gets bigger and bigger, she's only getting cuter and cuter. When she's outside, she cries out for Basil and no matter where he is in our house he can hear her — then immediately begins pacing the house and crying out until we let him out back to see her (not barking, but literally crying).

She climbs up on her steps to peer over the fence for Basil and he jumps up to prop himself on our stairs to get a glance at her.

She crouches down and whimpers through the fence for him...

Then he comes over to appease her:

Then...

She does this:

Biting her way through???

Luckily, we have some replacement boards left in our garage. Maybe the previous owners saw this coming?

  1. Hahaha! Oh my gosh that is too cute! Depending on how often you have to replace the boards it could get old and lose it's cuteness factor really quick :)

    1. Angie you are so right! We are hoping it's just a puppy habit that will be squashed soon before we get into any major issues.

  2. haha that's awesome and hilarious! I'm glad Basil doesn't hop the fence. My 2 dogs have an affinity for that, so I have to keep a close eye on them when they're outside. They climb our 6ft brick wall in a single bound!
