Things We Loved This Week

1. Roost Blog; a visually rich food and lifestyle blog chronicling the adventures of living a grain-free lifestyle and the dream to one day run a sustainable working farm.

2. Vintage metal double rear fender bicycle baskets; via Etsy shop, lisabretostyle2.

3. Personalized vintage style silver pennant necklaces; via goseek on Etsy. So much stuff to love in this shop — you've been warned. This is actually killing me right now.

4. Starter seedlings in egg shells that transfer directly into the ground. We are prepping the ground for fall plantings this weekend, so this cute & clever idea was welcome inspiration. I came across this a while back in my Google Reader via the wedding blog Green Wedding Shoes and was reminded of the idea again looking back through my Garden Inspiration board on Pinterest.

5. "The Supreme" suspenders by Phuong & Seb's Belt Co., purveyors of fine handmade belting made in Australia; via Something's Hiding in Here.

6. Work Hard & Be Nice to People Poster; via Anthony Burrill.

Lastly, have you had a chance to see this Etsy video on the infamous Beerhorst family? It's pretty intriguing getting a peak inside the lives of a family breaking the norm, even subscribing to what they call "un-schooling." Seeing that little girl care for their chickens makes us want to raise some of our own even more.

Handmade Portraits: The Beerhorst Family from Etsy on Vimeo.

We're certainly looking forward to this extended end of summer weekend here in the U.S. with good friends, family and food. We'd love to hear what plans and goals you've got going on for your 3 day weekend.

P.S. Find Tim's latest guest post for the Hills and Heights Happy Hour series right here, featuring an "in the dark" solution. Also, for those of you with creative & independent businesses, find my Merchandising Tips for September recently published on the Etsy Blog to stay in the know.
